I was really hoping you were going to get into slavery in the Bible. But you didn't. And this is something that really bothers me. Because what you've done here is exactly what you told us NOT to do? You're picking and choosing from the Bible. Picking the parts that support your point, and ignoring those verses that show you're simply wrong? I agree, you couldn't kidnap someone and make them a slave. Just about every nation had this law. It's actually why slave traders were so widely hated at the time. Because they did this sometimes. So your quote from 1 Timothy condemning slave traders? That's why. It's not a condemnation of slavery at all, but slave traders. As it clearly says. Deep. And "God showed up to give regulations to something that was already happening". And this isn't true either. Because it wasn't happening yet in Israel. God gave these regulations to the Jews before they ever got to the promised land. Before they even owned their first slave. Deeper. "And slavery was a bankruptcy law, it was really indentured servitude"? Well if you're talking about the laws that ONLY applied to the Hebrews, then you're right. Except the Bible is also very clear that Hebrews could NOT be made slaves in Israel. So this isn't even the slavery in the Bible at all. That was reserved for non-Hebrews only. And it's in these laws that we see the Bible condoning slavery. Actual lifelong, generational chattel slavery. But these were conveniently ignored here. Deepest. When we follow your advice, don't pick and choose from the Bible, and go deep, deeper and deepest, we see that the Bible does in fact condone slavery. "Why" has always been my question. Not "if". The answer to that is a clear yes. But only if you do "deepest".

Tithe has little to do with money. Tithe has everything to do with giving 10% of wheat and other herbs (meat/food) Only the Levites could receive tithes as it was specifically for them for a reason. Giving alms is what giving money is.
